The Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, through the Parks and Gardens Service, is carrying out an intensive cleaning of the lakes of the municipality.
At the moment there is a team of eight people who are in charge of these tasks that are carried out after the emptying of great lakes such as, among others, those located in the garden of Salitre, Silk, Atalayas Balsas or Lake San Ginés.
Once emptied, all inlays in the vessels are removed with water under pressure.
The lakes of the municipality of Murcia receive a constant surface cleaning by professionals who watch that there are no leaves or rubbish in them, "however, apart from this daily care, there are intensive cleanings of large lakes in which they are completely emptied these spaces and proceed to regenerate the water and use mud and mud extractors, "explains the mayor of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén.
In addition lakes are treated with active oxygen on a monthly basis to avoid the proliferation of algae because, since there is wildlife in almost all of them, no other means can be used.
The City Council, Guillén emphasizes, remains firm in its policy to continue betting on the care and maintenance of the green spaces of Murcia, making them a meeting place, sport and leisure for Murcia.
