The councilor of Commerce, organization, and institutional relations of the City of Murcia, Maruja Pelegrín, responded this afternoon to the socialist municipal group.
"It seems to us an absurdity that this gentleman is dedicated to confuse and deceive the merchants, evidencing that he does not know the operation and regulation that governs the activity of our markets and Squares."
The popular councilor explained that the procedures for awarding the vacancies are carried out through competitive competition, which allows various traders to opt for a project in the markets.
All this under some criteria of baremacion.
"Councilman Peñaranda is equating the procedure of granting licenses to private individuals in the field of private activity with the procedure of assigning a place of public domain, which is by competitive competition, and therefore has quite different terms of adjudication ", explained Pelegrín.
It is therefore false that there are closed positions and traders without being able to carry out their professional task, if not put in the process of being assigned after the procedure of calling, submitting projects, evaluating, or correcting requirements.
"If we want to boost excellence in the businesses that carry out their professional work in our markets, we must also be rigorous in the selection processes and meet the deadlines that the current regulations require when determining who should occupy that space," has concluded Maruja Pelegrín.
