Social Rights reinforces its commitment against human trafficking by establishing a collaboration agreement with APRAMP (22/09/2017)

The City of Murcia is closer to the Association for the prevention, reinsertion and care of prostituted women thanks to a subsidy in 2017 of 15,000 euros APRAMP recognizes that the assistance of Social Rights "ensures and strengthens the permanence of the association in the city of Murcia "

The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, visited this morning the headquarters of APRAMP, the Association for the prevention, reinsertion and care of prostituted women, in the context of the international day against sexual exploitation and trafficking that is celebrated tomorrow, September 23.

It is a national association that directs its intervention to women and girls who suffer sexual exploitation and trafficking in human beings, so that they recover their freedom and dignity by asserting their rights and that they achieve the autonomy necessary to undertake a life outside the control and abuse of their exploiters.

A visit to strengthen the commitment that the City of Murcia has with this association in order to support their actions of awareness through campaigns or acts to raise awareness, contribute and eradicate trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, at the same time that promote projects that improve the attention to the people with whom they work.

"It is fundamental to continue the work of raising awareness of society, through the development of campaigns and specific actions, as well as enhancing a space for observation and reflection on the problem of prostitution," highlighted the councilor during her visit to the center.

As a novelty, this year the Department of Social Rights has allocated to the APRAMP a grant of 15,000 euros that allows to maintain the activity of the Reception Center.

A game that will remain fixed during the next years, guaranteeing the work of Association.

Thanks to this help, it provides a comprehensive resource for listening, support and accompaniment in cases of urgency, information and assistance are available 24 hours a day, coordinates and evaluates the reception of victims and begins a process of multidisciplinary intervention , contemplating the areas of social, legal, health care, socio-labor insertion through a basic training program.

Among the main objectives of this collaboration between APRAMP and the City of Murcia is the development of a process of individualized intervention that encompasses psychological, legal, social, training and work, through support and comprehensive care with specific programs adapted to its situation.

Likewise, it seeks to serve as a specialized device for the identification of victims of trafficking for purposes of sexual exploitation and to carry out a complementary work with the rest of the resources of our entity, especially of the floor of trafficking of persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation and to offer to the the possibility of leaving the circle of prostitution and trafficking, through real and adapted labor alternatives.
