Citizens regrets the low value that José Ballesta and his team grants to mobility in Murcia (22/09/2017)

The mayor Paqui Pérez denounces that the local Government has not organized any act to celebrate the European Mobility Week, which demonstrates its lack of commitment to a subject as serious as sustainable mobility

The mayor of Ciudadanos Paqui Pérez has denounced today that the Government of José Ballesta has not organized any type of activity during the European Week of Mobility that is celebrated, from 16 to 22 September in many cities of the European continent, in which of carrying out a large number of events during this week, today, on the occasion of the Day Without Cars, continue their program with more activities.

"If there is no award, José Ballesta and his team do not act", Pérez denounced, referring to the year 2015, "when Murcia was awarded the European Mobility Week award, and the local government was dedicated in the body and soul to organize activities and to promote this event through multiple campaigns in social networks ".

"Once again, everything is on paper," complained Cs councilor, who reminded Ballesta that "European Mobility Week is another opportunity, together with daily work, to explain the challenges facing cities, generate a change in behavior and move towards a more sustainable municipality model, where intermodality, due to the characteristics of our municipality, is of the utmost importance. "

As a colophon of this nefarious to manage the mobility of José Ballesta and his team - stressed Perez - we find that today is celebrated the European Day Without Cars;

and the PP, entangled in other issues, has not prepared a single activity to raise awareness of neighbors in the need to move towards a municipality with less traffic, where the tram, bus and bicycle become the transport elements by excellence.

Therefore, from Citizens have submitted a letter to the mayor of Murcia claiming that for the next few years, the European Mobility Week is organized and scheduled as Murcia deserves.

"In these years the reality of our municipality responds only to the partisan and electoral interests of the Government of Ballesta through the autobombo, unfulfilled promises and media circuses," Perez concluded.
