The mayor of Ciudadanos Carlos Peñafiel today reported that the municipal ownership of the Nueva Condomina stadium is in the air, confirming that, according to the Property Registry, the sports complex does not figure in the name of the Murcia Consistory, owner of the company Desarrollos Nueva Condomina, SL, a company registered in a competition of creditors since 2013 and with a large number of mortgage charges for millionaire amounts.

In this regard, Peñafiel recalled that according to the agreement signed in 2001 between the City of Murcia and the company Sports Management and Proyect SL, now called Desarrollos Nueva Condomina SL, once the stadium was built, it became municipal ownership.

The Consistory received this stadium, making it their own and using it as best he considered, in this case, he gave it exclusively to Real Murcia in 2009.

"The surprise has been a big one when we have confirmed that the registration property is not from the Consistory, but from Desarrollos Nueva Condomina," said the mayor of Cs, who has reiterated that "this company is also in a complicated economic situation that directly affects the stadium, which supports all the debts millionaires that must said company, including 18 million euros to the Treasury.

"If it is confirmed that Nueva Condomina is not municipal property and in the case of acquiring the property by the City of Murcia, it would have to assume charges and taxes millionaires, which would cause very serious economic and patrimonial damage to the municipal coffers and the murcianos ", has denounced Peñafiel.

Legal report

For all this, Cs councilor has asked José Ballesta that the legal services and municipal intervention report on the situation in which the football stadium is in order to clarify their ownership and all the doubts that surround this issue that could involve a significant disbursement of public money, given the countless embargoes that weigh on the Nueva Condomina stadium.
