The facade of the Moneo Building will be illuminated tomorrow in green to commemorate the International Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week (15/09/2017)

The City Council, through the Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz, will illuminate the facade of the Moneo building in green to commemorate the International Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, proposed by the Association of Mitochondrial Pathology Patients (Aepmi).

Thus, special lighting will take place tomorrow from 20.30 to 1 hours approximately, and simultaneously to other places in Australia, USA, Canada, Italy, UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.

To overcome the Guinness World Record, at least 38 monuments must be turned on for at least ten minutes during the 24-hour period, something that is expected to be achieved, as more than 70 sites are expected to light up to date.

Spain will be the second country after Australia, to illuminate more monuments and official buildings, and for the moment will be displayed in green places of Alcalá de Henares, Badajoz, Barakaldo, Barcelona, ​​Bilbao, Burgos, Cadiz, Madrid, Mallorca or Portugalete, in addition of Murcia.

In addition, the Murcia is encouraged to upload a photo to the social networks next to the building with the # igightupformito upg to publicize this cause.

Along with this initiative, a Spanish boy, Adrián, has opened a web page www.migranodearena.org, where anyone who wants and voluntarily donates the amount he wants to research mitochondrial diseases.
