Equo RM demands the resignation of the delegate of the government and the mayor of Murcia before the police charge on the roads (15/09/2017)

Given the excessive police response demonstrated last night in front of the peaceful protest of the neighbors and neighbors of the municipality of Murcia by the demand of the burial of the AVE route, EQUO RM demands the resignation of both the government delegate, Antonio Sánchez-Solís, mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.

Coinciding with the visit of the Minister of Public Works, Ãñigo de la Serna, to the city of Murcia, who canceled some acts for fear of protests, the state security forces have proceeded by violent means, following orders of the minister himself, to the eviction of the neighbors, who for several weeks have been demanding, with their presence, the beginning of the burial works of the AVE tracks at its entrance to Murcia.

For the Green Party, it is intolerable that force be used, with the result of several injured, to repress the legitimate defense of their rights by the neighbors of the south of the municipality, who have been supporting the lies of the mayor in relation to the burial works.

Representatives of the central government and the municipal government, as well as the party that supports it, the Partido Popular, are turning their backs on the just neighborhood demands, preferring that the city be divided in two by the construction of a wall of 9 km.

long and 5 meters high, rather than defend their fellow citizens.

On the contrary, they have opted for the use of police violence to repress people of all ages who were carrying out this peaceful protest.

That is why these two institutional positions can not remain one minute in their posts, and should resign immediately.
