The PSOE remembers the commitment to extend the bus schedule that would facilitate the participation of neighbors of pedanias in the Fair (13/09/2017)

The Municipal Socialist Group takes stock of the September Fair and, in addition to congratulating itself on the few incidents, warns that the Plenary of the City of Murcia approved a motion to extend the bus schedule that, "if it had been fulfilled, would have facilitated the neighbors of the districts participate in the nightly events of the Fair program, "said the spokeswoman, Susana Hernández.

"If we do not facilitate public transport, we only encourage the use of private transport," says Hernández, who also points out that there are activities that begin at 10 pm "in which it is being prevented or obstructed. the citizens of the districts participate, in addition to that extended schedules would effectively reduce the use of private cars and avoid jams. "

Likewise, the councilwoman explains that "if we denounce frequently the existing deficiencies in transport and traffic, these deficiencies are multiplied in days of agglomerations by the holidays and not only by the evident lack of parking but also by the cuts of streets and, above all , for the transfers of the bus stops to the entrances to the city, reason why the neighbors who come from districts have to travel a long distance on foot until arriving at its destination ".

"We believe that the City Council should make a greater effort so that the use of the bus in general, and Fair days in particular, provide a more comfortable and efficient service, so that it is easier to make citizens aware of the use of public transport ", notes the councilor, who points out that these proposals of the Socialist Municipal Group are aimed at improving our parties.

On the other hand, he affirms that "these constant campaigns that frequently present us to keep the streets clean should be intensified by taking advantage of the crowds of neighbors both in the enclosures and the day of the pilgrimage and not only to raise awareness, real and effective with more containers and information points ".

It is precisely that "there is not a more adequate forecast to collect the garbage and waste in the events where it is known to occur. It is not a question of being collected after the event, but of avoiding, raising awareness, ending on the ground. This creates habit and more civic education. "

In this sense, he regrets that "when the holidays pass, the City Council reports, as if it were a great success, the tons of garbage collected by the cleaning services, when the great triumph is that those tons were a few kilos."

"We have observed the accumulation of garbage on the Malecón with the gastronomic fair, paper mills crowded during the Romería, tickets of the tombolas on the floor of the fairground and we believe that informing the citizens in person could have been avoided", explains the councilor, who also denounces the dirt and bad odors of the toilets located in the parking lot of the Regional Auditorium, which make it impossible to use.

Susana Hernández congratulates the security forces for the great work and effort made during the September Fair, as "they have had to multiply their hours of work so that citizens can enjoy a safe holiday."
