The Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, through the Parks and Gardens Service is remodeling more than a hundred alcorques in the main roads of Murcia.
Following the maximum of security as a priority, the City Council is reforming, one by one, the arches of different arteries such as Avenida de la Libertad de Murcia, Santo Domingo, Gran Vía or Plaza de las Flores.
A flexible rubber system allows to guarantee the safety of the pedestrians while expanding the pedestrian area of ​​the main arteries of Murcia.
This substance also guarantees the transpiration of the tree and thanks to a small margin around allows the corresponding development of the specimen.
"The reform of more than a hundred of these corners makes possible the improvement of security and gives a more modern and joyful image of our streets," said José Guillén.
To do this, the traditional gray tone is changed from some alcorques with different colors that give a renewed image to these places.
In particular have been reformed about 40 alcorques in the Avenida de la Libertad in Murcia, a fortnight in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, almost a dozen in the Plaza de las Flores in Murcia and about 80 in the Gran Vía de Murcia
