The Governing Board has approved the proposal of the members of the Council for Cooperation and Solidarity that it appoints.
In fact, the agreement implies a renewal of the representatives, which occurs due to the fulfillment of the two years of the term of office.
The five members appointed on the initiative of the Governing Board are Aurelio Luna Maldonado, Manuel Pleguezuelo Alonso, Miguel López Bachero, Ramón Gómez de Salazar Case of the Cobos and Antonio Pasqual del Riquelme.
Likewise, the mandate of the two persons of recognized prestige and dedication to the tasks related to the purposes of the Council, appointed at the proposal of the Mayor: Eduardo Osuna Carrillo de Albornoz and Jesús Adolfo Guillamón Ayala, is also renewed.
The members of the Council, who meet twice a year, must know the projects presented and the bases of the calls for grants, which are made annually, as well as advising the City Council on collaboration and solidarity.
In addition, they should propose actions to promote the values ​​of peace, tolerance, solidarity and non-violent resolution of conflicts and to channel citizens' participation in the face of catastrophes, unforeseen events and emergency situations. a fund created for that purpose.
The composition of the Council also includes the participation of the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, representatives of municipal groups and non-governmental organizations for development.
