Councilor for Sports and Health, presented this morning the XII National Petanque Tournament "Feria de Murcia" held on 8, 9 and 10 September in San Basilio's 'La Pergola', prepared for the event, which is organized by the Petanque Club Las Palomas - San Basilio.
This championship, which began 12 years ago, has been growing both in participation and in affluence of spectators, consolidating itself as a date to take into account in the national sports calendar among the lovers of this sport.
In this edition, 48 teams from different autonomous communities like Andalusia, Comunidad Valenciana, Cataluña or Castilla la Mancha will participate in the tournament, as well as other teams from throughout the Region of Murcia.
In terms of participating players, the participation of the current European champion of Precision Shooting in the U-23 category, Manuel Romero, or the Spanish individual champion in the youth category, Antonio Santiago, who this year will represent alongside other selected to the Spanish team in the World Youth Championship held in China.
Coello stated that "this edition will have the presence of different champions of Spain in senior category in previous seasons.
It is a high level championship in which from the City Hall we want to invite all the fans and curious to attend, as they can enjoy an experience that is sure to bring them closer to this sport. "
