The UMU offers the first Master for cultural managers (06/09/2017)

The I Master in Cultural Management of the University of Murcia tries to train professionals in the management and management of cultural and artistic projects.

The Master will begin on October 20, with a duration of more than 300 hours of curricular practices in institutions, companies and cultural centers of the Region of Murcia and Alicante, and with a fundamentally practical methodology.

It is promoted by the Visual Studies Center of the University of Murcia (VISUM).

According to those responsible, the figure of the cultural manager becomes more and more important, "the cultural and creative industries sector is expanding and needs the professionalization of managers in the new models of cultural production."

It is a process that occurs both in the public administration (museums, cultural centers, theaters, town halls ...), as well as in the private (event producers, galleries, foundations, cultural industries of the book, discography ...).

It is a relatively young profession that includes cultural content programming, event planning, cultural project evaluation, etc.

The objective of this master's degree is to offer the students the necessary tools to manage the culture, through the production of cultural projects, artistic events, festivals, exhibitions curator, etc .;

as well as to develop capacities for cultural entrepreneurship from an innovative perspective based on new models of cultural management.

The registration will be open until October 14, and the duration of the course will be between October 20 and May 7.
