The International Chair in Bilingual Education is coordinated by the Director of Innovation of the University of Finland, David Marsh, who this morning has been appointed extraordinary professor of UCAM.
The objective of the chair is to deepen the research of bilingualism, so that it can be applied in the educational system from primary to university.
David Marsh works with numerous colleges and universities around the world to analyze the implementation of the bilingual education system.
"Murcia is one of the most active regions in this new focus of teaching, so it is very important for me to work here, with the Catholic University of Murcia," says Marsh.
"Nowadays parents want education to have their children include a second language, on the other hand teachers are very involved, so we must deepen this research, in which, on the other hand, there are already empirical results representative of their good performance".
The director of the UCAM, Josefina García has assured that Marsh, is the person suitable to carry out this investigation.
"With this appointment we give impetus to research in bilingualism to apply it from the base of the educational system of the Region of Murcia" explains the rector.
