The City of Murcia through the Social Rights Department, grants three grants that seek to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities and their families.

A total of 55,000 euros has been approved

First, Social Rights will allocate 33,000 euros to the Association for the Treatment of Persons with Cerebral Palsy (ASTRAPACE) to continue with the operation of the project "Activities with families to reconcile family and work life."

This project is part of the Service of Support and Care for Families (SAF), which offers continuous and stable care to the demands that families raise through direct care services to families: information, emotional support, orientation, family respite and leisure and free time (camp and summer schools) as well as community and community movement (coordination with community resources, networking, observing emerging needs, follow-up on referrals, etc.).

On the other hand, and as a result of the collaboration with the City of Murcia, the "Be Independent" Project, which consists of a Tutelada Housing, continues to be supported, where the beneficiaries live together for four months outside the family environment accompanied by different professionals, acquiring the knowledge and skills that are useful to live independently and that is aimed at 40 users

Secondly, and as announced after the Governing Board, a collaboration agreement is signed with the Nuevo Horizonte Association, an entity that has among its objectives the standardization, integration and knowledge of the resources offered by its closest environment and its region, contribute to family respite and promote training in people with mental disabilities through leisure activities and workshops.

The agreement, which provides for aid of 12,000 euros, is reached to boost the development of its annual program of actions and facilitate and promote the integration of people with intellectual disabilities, enhancing their autonomy and personal capabilities.

All this through the following actions:

- Support to Families.

- Family Respite Activities.

- Volunteer training.

- Cultural Program of Leisure and Leisure.

- Independent Living Promotion.

- Manipulative Workshops.

Finally, the City of Murcia through the Council of Social Rights, has granted a grant to the Association for the Integration of People with Intellectual Disabilities, CEOM, under the cooperation agreement signed in 2013 to collaborate in the implementation of the Project "Sheltered Housing for Persons with Intellectual Disability".

This experience is aimed at heterogeneous groups composed of five users who are rotating every month for a home where they live independently of their families, enhancing the independence and autonomy of these children, and assuming a family respite service for their usual caregivers.

Selection criteria include the family situation, access to other resources, basic skills and behavioral problems, integration of social norms or absence of health problems.

The amount amounts to 10,000 euros and with them is intended to bring families, through a concrete experience, to the reality and operation of the protected apartments, to promote through programs and specific supports the autonomy of users in the personal, social and family, as well as offering families a quality family respite service for educational purposes.
