The City of Murcia allocates 20,000 euros to the program 'Illuminating Lives' of the Little Sisters of the Poor (29/08/2017)

The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, visited this morning the residence of elders Little Sisters of the Poor, who regents the congregation Little Sisters of the Poor, in the hamlet of Puente Tocinos.

A meeting framed within the narrow collaborative work of the City of Murcia is maintained with associations and charities institutions and has served to know the next projects of the center.

In particular, the implementation of air-space with gerontogimnasia devices, which will allow the improvement of the active and healthy aging of the over 65 years that are found in this space.

According to the councilor, there are currently 70 people in attendance, of whom 50 percent are dependent or semi-dependent elderly who need more dedication and care.

The City of Murcia, through the Council that runs ConchitaRuiz, collaborates with this institution through a grant of 20,000 euros, for the project called "Illuminating Lives" HELPS PAY THE LIGHT !, whose main objective is to help pay for expenses Of electricity to maintain and improve the quality of life of the elderly people residing in the Center, integrated in their great majority by people over 65 years of age, who lack the economic resources or who have very low incomes, being in a situation of high social vulnerability.

The general objective of this institution, as the Congregation itself defines in its project is "to provide a pleasant coexistence in an atmosphere of peace, harmony, respect and solidarity, where the persons majors feel at home, giving them an integral attention and accompanying them in All your needs until the end of your days. "
