The neighborhood of Santa Eulalia has more parking spaces for people with reduced mobility (26/08/2017)

The Department of Traffic, Safety and Citizen Protection, directed by Lola Sánchez, has carried out during the last weeks several horizontal and vertical signaling works in the neighborhood of Santa Eulalia within the ADN-Urban project.

The work, which involved an investment of 10,000 euros, has been coordinated with the rest of the services that have performed different tasks in the vicinity of the neighborhood, since the Traffic Service is in charge of signaling once the work of Civil works in pedestrian areas and in roads, and after distribution and conditioning of urban furniture, gardening ...

Councilwoman Lola Sánchez explained that "these actions have been aimed at regenerating the neighborhood to make it friendlier, with an easier environment for the neighbors, who asked for more relevance to the areas of walk and rest, to improve the conditions of the commerce of the Zone and unique points of attraction with particular charm that Santa Eulalia has, with special presence of universal accessibility of the whole environment, and rearranging the areas with the aim of making the whole neighborhood more dynamic and welcoming.

In this way, the work has been focused on reordering the loading and unloading areas, parking of two-wheel vehicles, reservations for people with reduced mobility and renovation of signage throughout the neighborhood.

Specifically, the loading and unloading area of ​​Plaza Sardoy has been moved to Calle Doctor Fleming, in order to maintain the necessary services for the shops of the area and thus improving the environment giving back the protagonism to the pedestrian in that place.

Thus, signage has been installed forbidden parking and a public awareness campaign has been conducted for motorists from the Local Police.

Likewise, in the area around Plaza Santa Eulalia, the reserve for loading and unloading has been regulated in a new location, and the provision of reservations for people with reduced mobility has been improved, as in Plaza Cristo Resucitado, where Relocated the reservation for loading and unloading.

Another of the actions has been to reorder parking areas as a result of the modifications that have been carried out by other councils, and have thus arranged new places in La Gloria and Nicolás Ortega Pagán streets.

Alongside this, the vertical signaling has been renewed, providing signs and poles of aluminum, installing more than 100 new signs.

In addition, it has been remarked horizontal signaling of all streets of the neighborhood, including delineation of regulated parking reservations (ORA, loading and unloading and motorcycles), parking prohibition signaling, directional arrows, priority of passage (stop and cede) , And pedestrian crossings.
