Clean Mount Day returns to leave the environment in perfect condition after the pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Fuensanta (25/08/2017)

In the last editions of the Pilgrimage of the Patroness of Murcia have collected about 23,500 kilos of waste |

The Councilor for Urbanism, Environment and Huerta, Antonio Navarro, presented this morning the Day of Mount Clean 2017 together with the President of the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, Luis Rios, and the President of the Federation Scouts of Explorers Of Murcia (ASDE), Daniel López, accompanied by the Spanish Champion of the Nordic March, Murcia Sandra Ribes.

For Monte Limpio Day, which is part of the program of the festivities of the September Fair, a tent will be installed during the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Fuensanta, from which information will be provided and bags will be distributed to raise awareness of The attendees on the need to not dirty the natural environment and protect it from the risk of fires.

In addition, the Mountaineering Federation of the Region will be in charge of coordinating awareness, training and environmental education activities on Mount Clean Day 2017.

In recent editions, the cleaning services of the City Council have collected 23,400 kilos of waste, so it is necessary the collaboration of all attendees to ensure that the mountain remains clean.

During the Pilgrimages of other years there have been an approximate participation of 750,000 people.

Navarro has stated that "in this very special day it is necessary to look after the mountain so that everything works and that the Pilgrimage is a success.

Thanks to Mount Clean Day you can enjoy the environment without dirtying it and respecting nature in these upcoming holidays of the September Fair.
