Now Murcia asks Ballesta to "be minimally informed of the legislation before taking measures affecting the municipal assets and coffers" (09/08/2017)

NOW MURCIA asks the Mayor Ballesta "to be minimally informed of the legislation before taking measures affecting the cultural heritage and municipal coffers."

The Councilor Angeles Micol makes these statements after the decision of the City Council to remove the huge advertising billboard of the September Fair on the facade of the Moneo building.

"It is not logical that an association has to come to tell the Consistory itself," he says, "that it is breaking the law in the use of a municipal building."

Micol recalls that the placement of the large poster on the facade of the Moneo goes against the regulations for the protection of monuments and its surroundings declared to be of Cultural Interest (BIC), in this case the Cathedral of Murcia, and the Ordinances of the Set Artistic History of Murcia (PECHA).

The councilor asks the mayor "how much money has cost the huge poster, as well as its placement and withdrawal" and inquires about whether "it does not know the most basic patrimonial legislation of the municipality or simply jumps it to the bullfighter."

The mayor hopes that, whatever the answer, "stop repeating in the municipality situations like this one, and even less that the one who commits them is the City Council itself, which is the first to conform to the regulations in force in all areas ".
