The UCAM of Cartagena adapts its Laboratories of Criminology with the new techniques of investigation police and legal medicine (08/08/2017)

The studies of the Degree in Criminology will begin in October its third course in the Campus of the UCAM in Cartagena.

For this reason, and because of the specialization in which they are going to deepen their students, the Catholic University has made an important effort in improving its laboratories so that its students can carry out in the facilities of Los Dolores all the techniques of criminal investigation and medicine legal.

In order to make reconstructions of criminal acts, such as robberies, homicides, counterfeits or trafficking in drugs and other substances, we have invested in specific material such as mixers, special reagents, DNA-taking kits, crime scene signage, etc. , In addition to implementing new safety measures in laboratories.

In this way, students will be able to learn with the latest technologies the techniques of criminal investigation, obtaining relevant information on fingerprints, blood or semen, use of forensic lights, etc .;

All from the hand of highly qualified teachers, including members of the Civil Guard who work daily in the investigation of legal proceedings.

Detective, victim assistance, private security and criminal investigation

Other novelties for the new course will be that students who finish Criminology at the UCAM, a 4-year career that is offered in Cartagena as a half-time, will be able to validate part of their training for the title that qualifies as a private detective.

In conclusion, the Catholic University continues to work on new initiatives that contribute to improving the employability of its students who wish to work investigating criminal acts, attention to vulnerable victims, private security, marginality, criminal policy and justice in the police, penitentiary, Judicial, ...
