The Park and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, led by José Guillén, has completed the campaign against the aphid in 20,000 trees in the municipality.

These tasks are performed by alternating various techniques such as spraying, biological treatment and release of parasites and predators making the trees are healthier and protected against the aphid.

The action is carried out mainly in tipuanas, jacarandas, robinias and rosales, among others using phytosanitary products designed specifically for pest control in these specimens.

The work has been carried out for two months by several teams, especially at night, in the case of sprays, to cause the least possible annoyance to the neighbors of the different areas of the municipality where they have been applied.

Regarding the treatment with parasites and predators, its real effectiveness is being studied to continue expanding this system to more specimens of Murcia.

Although a thorough work has been carried out against the aphids, it is always possible that high temperatures allow this insect, with a high level of reproduction, to show new life cycles during the months of September and October, for which , If necessary, it would be repeated in a specific and specific manner on those affected.
