Users of the new car park in the neighborhood of San Antón can deliver a voluntary donation to Amupheb.
This new infrastructure, which will offer almost 80 new parking spaces, occupies the space between the old access of the A-30 motorway from the Plaza de Castilla.
Murcia will launch next spring a new concept of public parking that will be the first of these characteristics throughout the Region and one of the first in Spain.
The City Council will create a new area to park vehicles that will allow to offer almost 80 new parking spaces in the neighborhood of San Antón while supporting a charity.
Mayor Jose Ballesta reported this morning that the new infrastructure, located in the vicinity of Ronda Norte, can be used totally free of charge although drivers will be able to deliver a voluntary donation to the Murcian Association of Parents and Children with Spina Bifida, whose president , Carmen Gil, accompanied the mayor in the press conference, in addition to the Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sánchez, and Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz.
In this way, Amupheb will install a booth in the parking lot where volunteers will report and report on this disease and the activity carried out by the association.
Drivers wishing to do so may submit a donation.
Although the schedule has not yet been finalized, the booth will be open those days and slots with greater influx of drivers.
The new car park, run by the Department of Traffic and Citizen Security, directed by Lola Sánchez, occupies the space between the old access of the A-30 dual carriageway from Plaza de Castilla in the city of Murcia, which was disused when The new access line was built with the tunnel.
The occupied area amounts to 170 square meters that were ceded to the City Council by the Demarcation of State Roads in June 2016.
In this way, a new parking area will be offered to neighbors in the area bounded by San Antón, Calle Norias, Calle Olof Palme and Calle Nueva de San Antón, and to users of various public services such as FREMM, School Master Jose Castaño or the school Jesus and Maria.
The new infrastructure has been proposed with a central street of 5.50 meters in width and two lateral parking strips placed obliquely with an angle of 60º between the direction of entry and the alignment of the squares.
Each parking space will have dimensions of 2.50 by 4.50 meters.
This will allow the creation of 65 places for vehicles, three places for people with reduced mobility, placed in line, seven places for motorcycles and a bicycle.
In addition, new light points will be installed on the new sidewalk to be built with low-power LED lighting and 14 arches will be created in which mulberry trees will be planted.
The execution period is three months and the bidding budget amounts to 254,923.28 euros.
