The Recruitment Bureau, chaired by the Councilor for Finance and Contracting, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva and attended by representatives of municipal political groups has proposed this morning the award of various services and projects related to heritage and education
Thus, the project for the rehabilitation of the Molino del Batán, bridge and base of the Arab tower on the Camino Viejo de Monteagudo to Constu-Archena SL has been proposed for an amount of 95,200 without VAT and for the rehabilitation of the Mill of Love in the Acequia Mayor Aljufía of La Arboleja a Pegiro SL for 221,200 euros.
The Plan of Action of the Huerta de Murcia, in which both projects are framed, includes a list of measures aimed at revitalizing, maintaining and caring for this environment, which provides the municipality with an undeniable patrimonial, cultural, environmental and landscape value.
The Molino del Amor, with municipal ownership, is located at the end of the Paseo del Malecón, next to the Ñora Road, on the border between La Arboleja and La Albatalía, on the Aljufia Major ditch, and it is a cataloged construction , Dating from the 18th century, although, as in other cases in the Huerta, it was probably built on an earlier medieval mill.
It is a building of a plant, about 160 m², quite deteriorated, but still retains its main structure and can be recovered for contemplation and explanation.
The project provides for the integral rehabilitation of the building and adaptation of the open channels of the ditches, integrating them into an open garden area, and equipment of about 3700 m², which is also the subject of the project and which will include orchards and facilities linked to the mill. Its enjoyment by the neighbors and citizens that prolong the route of the walk of the Malecón to this point of destination.
The recovery of this mill has a great symbolic value for its potential to be integrated into a first-class urban space, such as the Paseo del Malecon, declared a Cultural Property and on which the City Council is drafting a Special Protection Plan.
The other great performance is the adaptation of the surroundings of the Mill of Batán, in the Old Road of Monteagudo.
Located on the Azarbe Mayor of the North, in Zarandona, at the moment it is integrated in the urban fabric.
The plot where it is located is a green area of ​​4.200 m² of municipal property, whose gardening will be executed by the owners of the area, but designed in this comprehensive recovery project with a garden-garden concept.
The intervention will maintain the character of orchard of the area, avoiding the realization of a conventional garden and preserving the existing plantations or implanting own species of an orchard that becomes a testimony of its origin for its public contemplation and use.
The project includes the restoration and integration of an Islamic tower from the 11th century, declared a Cultural Heritage Site, and a bridge from the 18th century, while efforts are under way to incorporate the mill into the municipal heritage.
Likewise, the proposal for the awarding of the service of conservation and maintenance of public schools in the city to the company Projects and Services Francisco Romero for 69,251 euros and of the repair works of the Salzillo public school in San Ginés to Constu-Archena SL For 45,500 euros
Lastly, the award was granted to the Patronato Jesús Abandonado of the Temporary accommodation service in the homeless shelter for 1,127,850 euros.
