Rebeca Pérez: 'After two years as a councilor, Retegui is in profile the first time he has to make an executive decision' (26/07/2017)

The socialist councilor is very concerned about the conflict in the museum, but apparently not enough to interrupt her vacation

Socialist Councilor Begoña García Retegui has made it clear that she is concerned about the situation of the Ramón Gaya Museum, but not enough to interrupt her vacation and provide something to solve the situation of its workers.

The councilor, absent from commissions and meetings since the beginning of the summer, did not attend the last meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, although we had to change the date due to her absence.

'Where is the socialist councilor?

Where do you set your personal position on the workers of the Museum?

Where is he on vacation?

From where does your supposed defense of the workers?

Has Ms. Retegui signed the proposal that we have taken to the plenary to resolve the discrepancy? 'Asks the PP Spokesperson.

The Plenary has in its hand to approve tomorrow an agreement that will allow to unlock the situation that drags the museum.

Rebeca Pérez recalls that Retegui is part of the Patronage and must be able to assume the part of responsibility that as such corresponds and not only require others to respond for it.

"In more than two years as a councilor and as a member of the Corporation, it is the first time she is forced to make an executive decision and yet she prefers to be in profile," said the spokeswoman for the PP.

Agenda item 5 of the plenary contains the viable solution for the museum and we are not going to remove it, so you have time to decide what you will do when the time comes, even if the last one remains to manifest itself, as it has Transmitted that it intends to do '.

Defend your own motion

If it does not endorse the only legal and viable measure that we can approve, the opposition groups will fail to comply with their own motion a month ago, which forced us to hold an extraordinary plenary session on remunicipalisation of services, including museum employees.

In politics we are also to provide solutions and take fair decisions, and fair is that workers receive their salary for the work they do and that who does not support an agreement, to propose another valid.

Finally, Rebeca Pérez clarified "although the socialist councilor does not want to see it, it is the plenary, and not the mayor, who must adopt the agreement, and so established by the Local Finance Act.

It is a feasible solution after the recent approval of the Municipal Budgets 2017, assuming the City Hall the staff costs of the Ramón Gaya Museum and the imminent unblocking of payrolls, which must be voted by the Plenary (municipal groups and non-attached councilors) , As established in article 217, 2 a and b of the Local Finance Regulatory Law.
