UMU increases predoctoral and postdoctoral contracts and approves the public offer of places in the PAS (21/07/2017)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia (UMU), which met Friday in the building of Convalescence, headquarters of the Rector, has approved the offer of predoctoral contracts for 2018, which go from 12 this year to 20, And postdoctoral contracts, which go up from four to ten, as well as the public offer of employment for Administrative Personnel and Services (PAS) positions.

As far as predoctoral contracts are concerned, the basis of the call indicates that the aim is to increase the number of researchers and researchers in training, promoting the realization and defense of the doctoral thesis

The deadline for submission of instances will be September 4 to 29.

As for the postdoctoral contracts, the call picks up a new approach with respect to the calls of the last years, which will make them more attractive and, at the same time, will encourage attendance.

Of the four current two-year contracts, ten contracts will be passed in 2018, lasting up to five years, according to the Vice Chancellor of Research, Antonio Juan García.

In this case, the deadline for submitting applications will be open for twenty calendar days from the day following that in which the call appears published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM).

Its purpose is to increase the number of qualified doctors in the UMU research teams.

As for the public offer of employment of the PAS, it includes a total of forty places.

The internal promotion of this same staff has also been approved, which includes a total of 54 seats, a matter that has also been submitted by the manager, David Martínez Victorio.

Within the chapter of the Vice-rectorate of Teachers, directed by Professor José Ángel López, various matters have been approved;

Among them, that referred to the call for the conversion of full-time teachers' posts for the 2017-2018 academic year, which affects 40 medical assistants.

Among other topics approved is the public prices of the Azarbe High School, which, as explained by its director, José Fulgencio Angosto, have remained unchanged since 2010.

At the beginning of the session, the rector, José Orihuela, has informed about the recent approval by the Council of Universities of the degree of Sociology, and has anticipated that, in the next few days, he will do the same with another UMU proposal, To the degree of Security, the latter, to be taught at the Cartagena ISEN.
