Rebeca Pérez signs a collaboration agreement with the associations "Solidarity Replies" and "Murcia Acoge" to improve the situation of those affected by the "Coastal Child" in Peru. These agreements will provide food aid (18/07/2017)

The Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, this morning has taken a step further in the ongoing commitment of the City of Murcia to help the neediest.

As a result of this, the Government Board announced last July 7 the granting of two grants worth a total of 20,000 euros to be invested in Peru, as agreed in the Cooperation Council.

An organ made up of representatives of the different political groups, representatives of NGO's of the municipality as well as members of recognized prestige in the field of Cooperation.

Margarita Guerrero, from the municipal group Cambiemos Murcia, and Maria Teresa Espinosa, from the socialist group, were present during the event.

One of the aids is destined to the NGO "Solidarity Responses" with which this morning has been signed the collaboration agreement that will allow to continue working in a coordinated way to mitigate the damages that the Andean country has suffered from the month of December of 2016 until The month of April of 2017, as a result of the passage of the "Coastal Child".

"It must be remembered that the effects, after heavy rains and winds, were devastating with a balance of more than 75 people killed and more than 627,048 people affected, many of whom had to leave their homes without being able to return to them. This is even more necessary the humanitarian aid and cooperation that we can provide from here.This City Council's commitment is total with the organizations Murcia that carry out their work in the most needy areas, "stressed Rebeca Perez after the signing of the document.

It should be noted that the Solidarity Replies Association carries out its humanitarian work in the region of Piura and the money received thanks to the subsidy approved by the City Council will be used for food aid, drinking water for the victims, insecticides and fumigation of areas, medicines , Mosquito nets, nets, long clothing to avoid pitting and lowering the area of ​​action in the most damaged area.

On the other hand, Rebeca Pérez has also signed the collaboration agreement with the Association 'Murcia Acoge' which, as reported during the press conference, will allocate the amount of the agreement to projects for the acquisition of materials for the improvement of water storage , Buckets with cover and supplies for the chlorination of the same, warm clothing, as well as accompaniment to the affected population in the process of social reconstruction, to be carried out Murcia Acoge in rural areas of Pueblo Nuevo (Chepen).

The collaboration of the City of Murcia with this association extends to almost 20 years in which projects have been developed in the area of ​​Pueblo Nuevo, one of the most affected and where María Alcázar Muñoz, present at the signing of the agreement, executive director Of Ayne Peru, the organization that as local counterpart of Murcia Acoge carries out the projects in the field.

Last year, as a result of the agreement between the two institutions, a program was developed to strengthen capacities for community health intervention and for the prevention and care of family violence in rural communities in Pueblo Nuevo.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the director of 'Solidarity Replies', María José Balibrea, and 'Murcia Acoge', Josefa Hernández Hidalgo, in addition to the executive director of 'AYNE Peru', María Alcázar, a missionary from Murcia residing in Andean country, which have reported on the needs and projects that are being carried out in the most affected areas.
