PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia present complaints to the City and CARM on the state of housing in La Paz (13/07/2017)

PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia will denounce to CARM the situation of the homes of La Paz

The councilors of PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia, Enrique Ayuso and Nacho Tornel, respectively, will submit complaints to the health and industry and energy councils for the "risk situation" housing in the Polygon of La Paz.

The councilors, who have held a meeting this morning with representatives of the Association 50 Anniversary of the neighborhood of La Paz, will ask the Autonomous Community to inspect the unhealthy state of the basements and the electrical installation of the blocks.

In the case of the spaces between the first dwellings and the ground, the situation is unworthy.

In many of them there are rats and cockroaches for the unhealthy state they are in, and most of these basses are waterlogged.

"This means that there is a significant health risk, and even that there may be foundation problems in buildings," Ayuso and Tornel said.

In addition, for municipal groups, it is a priority to examine the electrical network, since the installation is old, composed of obsolete materials and not protected.

"Another serious danger to the physical integrity of the neighbors and neighbors of the neighborhood".

Motion for the CARM to order the homes they own

In addition, PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia are going to present a motion to this month's Plenary for the Corporation to rule in favor of requiring the Autonomous Community to investigate and "legalize" the situation of more than 100 homes that are owned by La Paz, and that at present they are not subject to any type of control.

Thus, the objective is for the Autonomous Administration to clarify how many units it owns, what is its status and the use that is given, and to study rehabilitating one of the blocks, which is currently uninhabited.

Without European funds for rehabilitation of the neighborhood

Ayuso and Tornel have denounced that the City does not contemplate budget of the coming from the communitarian funds EDUSI for the rehabilitation of La Paz in spite of the state of the houses and the historical claims of the neighbors.

They have also criticized the City Council's refusal to invest public funds in La Paz with the argument that most of the houses are private, when "there is no impediment to doing so in private businesses like the 3 million euros that the Consistory destines to Terra Natura or the 130,000 square meters of public land given to UCAM for their business. "

To this can be added "the endorsement to the private airport of Corvera or the budget of Education diverted to concerts to private schools."

Question of priorities

Councilors consider that the Government team has to respond to an order of priorities when it comes to investing: "you have to choose between basic needs, such as housing, or support for private companies."
