The Department of Social Rights maintains its collaboration with the Segura Food Bank, which benefits 22,000 people. The Governing Board has approved a 20,000 euros grant for 2017 with which campaigns will be carried out to collect, share and raise a (07/07/2017)

The Council of Social Rights will allocate, after its approval in the Governing Board of the City of Murcia, 20,000 euros for the Segura Food Bank Association in order to carry out projects to help the most needy people in 2017 .

The project for which the grant is requested, entitled "Helping us to help 2017", includes participation in food collection and classification campaigns, visits to charities and distribution organizations, as well as awareness-raising campaigns for the promotion of Volunteering and training and awareness-raising activities in schools.

In total, almost 22,000 people are benefited thanks to this collaboration that allows 112 partner organizations to carry out their tasks in the municipality of Murcia.

It should be remembered that the Food Bank Association of Segura is one of the authorized distribution entities in the municipality of Murcia for the organization of food surpluses and FEGA funds among the population at risk of poverty and social exclusion, performing their work In close collaboration with this local administration and the associative fabric of the municipality.

Among the aims pursued by this entity is to recover food surpluses from our society and redistribute them among the people in need, avoiding any waste or misuse.
