21 new murals decorate Murcia thanks to the initiative 'From the street to the museum' (06/07/2017)

The collaboration between the Municipal Office of Grafiti (dependent on the Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz and Ferrovial Services), the Ministry of Culture and the collective Murcia Street Art Project has allowed Murcia to have 21 new murals, made as Parallel performance of the exhibition 'From the street to the museum' of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Councilor Roque Ortiz visited this morning the General Air Academy Square whose walls have been decorated with 14 of these 21 murals creating 600 square meters of murals which makes this space in the largest outdoor museum in the Region.

Two hundred spray cans, 300 liters of plastic paints and two elevators provided by the Grafiti Office have been required for its execution, which has been extended for two months.

The artists who have shaped their art thanks to this initiative come from London (Dale Grimshaw), Portugal (Draw), France (Mayoly), Valladolid (Mr. ZE & Kob), Tenerife (Feoflip), Asturias (Xav), Orihuela Chapu), Los Alcázares (Goyo 203) and Murcia (Aisha, Zai, Toren, Nels, Carlos Callizo and Borja).

The remaining seven murals are located in different parts of the city:

- Plaza complex Princesa.

Two murals by Lily Brick and Carlos Callizo.

- C / Sardoy, integrated urban DNA made by Pang (London)

- C / Toneleros, integrated urban ADN realized by Pang (London)

- C / Trinidad, integrated urban DNA made by Freak the Fab (France)

- C / Polo de Medina, carried out by L7M (Brazil) and SofreeSo (Switzerland)

Councilor Roque Ortiz explained that this initiative "has a double objective: to eliminate dirty walls and with vandalism and to create authentic works of art".
