A course at the University of the Sea will address the most frequent mental disorders. The VIII edition of "Psychiatry in everyday life" will be held in Molina de Segura from July 10 to 14 (04/07/2017)

From July 10 to 14, the "VIII Psychiatry Course in daily life" is celebrated at the Paseo Rosales Infantile Education College, within the activities of the International University of the Mar-Campus Mare Nostrum, which includes the summer courses of The University of Murcia.

The director is Luis Valenciano Martínez, Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist and supervising professor of International Society for Transference Focused Psychotherapy and Francisco Toledo Romero, Associate Professor of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine of Murcia and Psychiatrist of the Clinical University Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca .

The course aims to disseminate in an amicable and rigorous way the latest advances in psychiatry from which people can benefit today.

The activity aims at teaching and dissemination of mental disorders by clinical specialists who, from practical experience, can transmit their knowledge for the early detection of mental illness and better acting in front of it.

Topics such as depression, sleep disorders, personality disorders or self-destructive behaviors will be addressed by psychiatrists from various universities and clinical hospitals.

On Thursday, 14, Luis Gutiérrez Rojas, a psychiatrist at the Hospital Clínico de Granada, will speak about the curative value of the word.

It is aimed at university students of Medicine, Psychology, Pedagogy, Social Education, Teaching, Psychopedagogy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Health Sciences, Criminology, Physicians, Psychologists, Nurses and mental health workers, as well as teachers and jurists, Professionals of the university studies mentioned and any person interested in the subject.

It has a duration of 30 hours, and has the collaboration of Obra Social Foundation La Caixa and the Medical Studies Foundation of Molina de Segura.

It has been granted the recognition of Course of Sanitary Interest by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia.

Students enrolled will receive 3 free credits or 1 ECTS credit - CRAU.
