The motion, which will defend the councilor Margarita Guerrero and has been prepared by the sectoral group Women, Feminism and Equality of municipal training, proposes that the creation of such a protocol should include feminist groups, specialists in social education and other organizations involved In the struggle for equality, and included in the Municipal Equality Plan 2017-2019.

For Cambiemos Murcia, the queens of choice for children's queens and beauty pageants are events that promote discrimination, sexism and symbolic violence against girls and women by contributing to the female body being treated as a sexual object, Which makes it necessary to move towards cultural change and mentality in this regard.

The council has insisted that it is a "contradiction" to promote state and regional laws against gender-based violence and, at the same time, a public administration such as the City Council "allows the holding of such events." Recalled that since 2013 France has a rule that prevents children under 16 from participating in beauty contests, including sanctions with up to two years in prison for those who help, encourage or tolerate the participation of girls in these competitions.

Through its proposal, Cambiemos Murcia raises the need for a protocol to be put in place that serves as a binding work tool for party commissions in the neighborhoods and districts and that, while it is in the process of being drawn, take A campaign to raise awareness about the transformation of children's beauty contests.

Equally, the motion urges the City Council to stop supporting any popular event that promotes macho values, promotes hypersexualization of minors or that can undermine their self-esteem.
