The Romea and TCM theaters will host more than a hundred shows from September this year until January 2018 (28/06/2017)

The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning the programming of the first part of the 2017-2018 season of the municipal theaters Romea and TCM, from the next September to January 2018, thanks to the Which Murcia can enjoy 108 montages with more than 186 performances in total.

Among other novelties, for the first time the Teatro Romea will provide theater shows at the September Fair, a new project that will bring a theatrical and cultural to the fair.

To this end, four commercial shows have been programmed, in a comedy key, with well-known faces such as Manuel Bandeira, Bibi Andersen, Juan Gea, Carlos Sobera, Luis Varela ...

Many of the great montages that this summer will be walking by the Festivals of Classical Theater of Spain will happen through the Murcian scenarios.

Thus 'Calígula' opens season in the TCM (Teatro Circo Murcia) with the direction of Mario Gas;

'The Comedy of Lies' will arrive with Pepón Nieto and María Barranco in front as well as 'Tenderness' and 'Sueño', Shakespeare comedies directed by Alfredo Sanzol and Andrés Lima.

Other renowned actors, such as Fernando Tejero in 'La Cantante Calva', Nuria Espert in 'Incendios' (played this time in TCM after his successful visit to Teatro Romea), Luis Merlo in' El Test ', Carmen Machi in' The author of the Girls 'Olivia Molina in' Tristana ', Silvia Marsó in '24 hours of the life of a woman', will come to Murcia to offer their interpretations.

The music will also have its space with great concerts both nationally and internationally.

Names like Barbara Hendricks, The Tiger Lillies, Kevin Johanssen, Capercaillie, in the international part, and figures like Andrés Suarez, Amateur or the local group Second, that will offer a concert accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.

Also the municipal theaters of the capital will host international proposals of theater and circus, such as the Australians Gravity And Other Myths, the Argentines of Timbre 4, the Danes Teater Nordkraft and the Mexicans of Teatro Bárbaro or the Colombians of L'explose.

These companies offer very short tours that pass through few cities among which is Murcia.

Also worthy of note at Teatro Romea is a double opera program, major musical performances such as Rainroad the Musical, Symphonic of Pink Floyd and The Magic of Santana, and magic shows with Jorge Blass and the XIII edition of the Great Magic Gala organized by Domingo Artés.

The smaller ones will have room in both scenarios with a special children's program of small, medium and large format.

There will also be dance shows, such as Rocío Molina (flamenco), Iron Skulls (urban dance) and Romea and Juliet (classical) and six microtheater productions from various places in Spain

Theaters will support Murcian companies with the Escena de Aquí cycle, and co-productions with companies such as Alquibla Teatro and Onírica Mecánica, and will continue to host existing and important projects in the city, such as Titeremurcia, Contest Creamurcia or the Cycle Of Young Soloists, among others.

On this occasion, the program has another year with the support of the Platea Program, which is organized every year from INAEM (National Institute of Performing Arts and Music), which is under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport;

And the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

Councilman Jesús Pacheco explained that "we continue to work on developing a program that accommodates all arts, tastes and ages, and both theaters maintain their policy of low prices and reduction for some groups."

Last season they have passed through the theaters Romea and TCM more than 170,000 people (102,370 Romea and 68,708 Teatro Circo Murcia).

More than 100,209 have attended activities included in the program and the rest have gone through theaters for other types of events organized by third parties.

The occupancy of the rooms was 68.99% in the Romea and 63.98% in the TCM in the activities included in programming.

Of the 207 times the curtain has been opened this year at Teatro Romea, 139 times have been for activities included in the program and 68 for activities organized by external entities.

The TCM has carried out 205 activities, of which 151 have been own programming and 54 external.
