The new cultural space and urban orchards of Santa Eulalia will come into operation next July (27/06/2017)

The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, visited this morning the site of Paco Street, which thanks to the Urban DNA project is becoming a cultural space and coexistence.

The councilman has assisted in the placement, at the entrance, of huge letters vegetable ten meters long with the name of the neighborhood that will receive visitors and give identity to the project.

This pioneering initiative in Spain will allow a private lot ceded by a family to the City Council to become a unique and innovative facility in which different generations coexist.

Thus, the Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, in collaboration with the Department of Urbanism, Orchard and Environment, Antonio Navarro, and the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture of Jesús Pacheco are working on this parcel , Of about 400 square meters that will come on stream in the coming weeks.

This new space, designed to combine traditional, cultural and innovative activities, will have a zone of urban orchards of about 100 square meters of surface for the neighbors to grow their own products hortofrutícolas.

It will also reserve a space to play petanque, bowling huertanos or caliche and will create areas of stay.

On the other hand, it has installed an industrial container, 20 square meters, and other elements that will host exhibitions of photography, painting, sculpture and other artistic disciplines.

In addition, a stage will be set up to carry out micro theater activities, acoustic concerts, poetry recitals and dance performances, and a wall in which projections can be made and will also be used as summer cinema.

This new cultural space, demanded by the neighbors during the period of participation of the project, will only open in daytime.

In this plot was located a mansion that will also have a special role as it will be placed a support with information on the history of this building.

In addition, in order to make the stay more cozy and pleasant, the perimetral walls will be covered with ivy and planters will be installed with a dozen trees.
