Towards the first job with training and a title under the arm (20/06/2017)

A total of 88 young people between the ages of 16 and 20 who had dropped out of school resumed training through the First Professional Qualification Program and acquired their certificate.

23 students have received hiring proposals and others will expand their training the next course at higher levels.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, the UCOMUR Training Director, María Dolores Moreno, and members of the Municipal Corporation presented today the diplomas of the 1st Professional Qualification Program for Youth, which offers free of charge the City of Murcia, a course that has allowed 88 of the students who have done so (74% of the total) have acquired a full or partial certificate of professionalism and which has meant the first foray into The labor market for most of them.

A total of 71 of these young Murcians between 16 and 20 years old who had left their studies have carried out training after having approved the modules.

Of these, 23 have received proposals for contracting, formalizing ten contracts to date.

In addition, many other students have decided to continue studying and next year will take Certificates of Professionalism at higher levels.

This 1st Qualification Program "is an opportunity that opens new expectations to young people who did not find the necessary motivation due to a complicated personal or social situation, offering them a formative itinerary that allows them a first approach to the labor market, with a degree and experience Basic initial, "said José Ballesta.

This second edition of the Professional First Qualification Program has served a total of 119 students who began their activities in September 2016 and end this month of June.

Eight specialties

The students have been trained in the following eight specialties: Auxiliary Operations of Assembly of Electrotechnical Installations and Telecommunications in Buildings, Auxiliary Services of Aesthetics, Auxiliary Services of Hairdressing, Plumbing and Heating Operations-Domestic Air Conditioning, Auxiliary Activities of Trade, Basic Operations Of Housing Flats, Auxiliary Operations of Mechanical Manufacturing and Auxiliary Operations of Maintenance of Vehicle Bodies.

The workshops were given at the Training Center and Employment Initiatives of Murcia (along with Víctor Villegas) and the Training Center and Employment Initiatives of El Palmar.

The training received by the students is officially recognized and approved by the SEF and it is planned that, in September, this program, offered by the Municipal Employment Service, will be given again.

In addition to the young people who have found a job after training (between 40 and 120 hours), others have accessed the labor market of the Employment Service.

For socio-educational equality in Murcia

This second edition of the 1st Professional Qualification Program is a continuation of the work that the City of Murcia has carried out during the last 21 years through the publication of various programs (Social Guarantee, Professional Initiation and Initial Professional Qualification (PCPI ), A compensatory action of the socio-educational and labor inequalities in young people of the municipality of Murcia.

The recipients of these courses can request their participation by themselves, be proposed at the request of the counselors of the HEIs and the entities that work with these groups of young people, or be derived by the Social Services.

The workshops are also part of the resources offered under the Youth Guarantee program, which is funded by the European Union.

Extra training in language, math and English

Regardless of the certificates of professionalism, the Program has included basic training in language, mathematics and English skills.

This knowledge allows them to present themselves to the free tests of competences summoned by the SEF to be able to take Certificates of Professionalism of levels superior to those that by qualification could accede, and are the gate of access for those young people who wish to accede to formative cycles of Average Degree , Wish to return to ESO or to accede to the Bachiller.
