The Festival 'Talí Murcia Fest' returns with a poster loaded with flamenco for the education of girls and gypsy children (20/06/2017)

The Fundación Secretariado Gitano organizes the second edition of solidarity, with the help of the City of Murcia, to obtain funds to enable them to improve care for the youngest. Following the success of the first edition held last year, the Councilor for Social Rights of the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz, presented this morning the 'II Talí Murcia Fest' to be held on 23 June in the Artillery Barracks of Murcia, coinciding with the celebration of the night of San Juan.

An event organized by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, which this year celebrates its second edition, and which seeks funds to continue improving the support of the orientation and educational accompaniment programs that the Fundación Secretariado Gitano develops throughout Spain.

"We must continue to bet on education as the only way to break the exclusion, to guarantee the access of all boys and girls to the same opportunities as the rest of society, to maintain our commitment to the Roma people, with their rights and demands , As well as its obligations.As the Foundation collects among its objectives, only this will be possible a real social change capable of promoting the construction of an intercultural, just and equal society in which we all win, "said Conchita Ruiz.

Ruiz also explained that the Council of Social Rights last year allocated a total of 73,000 euros in aid to the Foundation Secretariat Gypsy within the Plan against Social Exclusion.

A collaboration that results in measures of support and educational guidance, which allows working with 54 families and more than 70 children enrolled in 19 centers of the municipality, actions to access employment and training improvement, which allowed more than 120 people to obtain A contract of employment or campaigns that favored equal treatment and non-discrimination, in which more than 200 people participated.

In the poster they emphasize names of artists like Pepe Luis Carmona Habichuela, Montse Cortes, Luis Carmona and Cheto Muñoz (Tribute Ketama), Juan Carmona Jr. Monty, Fernando Rey or Manuela de Farruco and El Barbero Loko.
