The Romea Theater of Murcia will host on June 29 the solidarity gala of Dance for Children (19/06/2017)

The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, presented this morning the Dance Gala for Children, to be held next Thursday, June 29, at the Teatro Romea, at 9:00 p.m.

This initiative, organized by Red Cross in Murcia with the school of dana Robles Ballet School, seeks to raise funds for the benefit of vulnerable children in the municipality of Murcia.

Along with the councilor were the directors of the dance company, Alberto Muñoz Esparza and José Antonio Robles, as well as the president of the Red Cross in Murcia, Mercedes Navarro.

At the gala will be present some of the greatest young talent at regional but also national and even international classical ballet dance at this time, which will offer five pieces in two parts.

In the first one, they will represent 'Sleeping Beauty Suite', one of the most famous ballets of the classical repertoire, which will highlight their most danced parts, and 'Summertime', a choreography represented by children between 5 and 8 years old Which will celebrate the arrival of summer.

Already in the second part 'It had better be tonight', a neoclassical ballet with music of Henry Mancini;

'La Amapola' and 'Genesis', a piece of classical language but with contemporary elements, which poses a technical and artistic challenge for the students of the dance company.

Municipal Childhood Plan

During the presentation, in the Hall of Receptions of the Building Annex to the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz has encouraged citizens "to be participants in this solidarity initiative in which, with only a small grain of sand, can contribute to the plans That the humanitarian institution has in place in the municipality and that complement the action that from the Council of Social Rights of the City Council is carried out with the smallest throughout the year.

In this sense, Ruiz Caballero explained that "there are multiple and continuous actions that are carried out from the Council of Social Rights for the care of children and adolescents in order to ensure the physical and intellectual development of this vulnerable group."

Thus, it has highlighted the programs of Attention to Child Abuse Protection, School Absenteeism, Economic Support to Support the Schooling, Support and School Reinforcement, Occupational Classrooms, Ciberaulas, socio-educational projects with adolescents and young people at risk of social exclusion ;

The Project of Activities with Children and Adolescents and Summer Schools and Camps.

"Child poverty is a scourge that concerns us all. It is a social reality that we must face because not only will we be improving the present, but we will be working for the future, yours and each one of us ".

Ruiz explained that the Council of Social Rights last year allocated a total of 1,156,600 euros to actions designed to reduce situations of risk to children and improve the social opportunities of adolescence and youth of Murcia, and for this year Has foreseen an increase of 43% that will materialize in an increase of canteens and summer aids, dining scholarships and socio-educational reinforcement.

Mercedes Navarro, president of the Red Cross in the municipality of Murcia, who stressed "the importance of this type of solidarity events so that NGOs can finance some of our most important projects. Red Cross with children attending a total of 377 boys and girls in the municipality of Murcia in various programs and projects, ranging from Family Fostering, Promotion of Success and School Support, Hospitalized Children or Toys to Educate.
