The fiestas of El Palmar include a campaign against sexist aggressions proposed by Cambiemos Murcia (17/06/2017)

The municipal council of El Palmar will carry out today, at the proposal of Cambiemos Murcia, a campaign titled "No means no" to fight against the macho aggressions within the framework of the fiestas of the locality.

The campaign emerged following a proposal by the sectoral group Women, Feminism and Equality of municipal training to fight against sexual assault and abuse that occur on women in party settings.

Thus, two large vertical posters with the motto of the campaign will appear on the sides of the stage where the so-called "Battle of Cocks" will be developed, which is the activity that is expected to be more young people and that will take place today from 18 to 20 hours.

In addition, the Festival Committee will distribute explanatory brochures among the public, which will be added to other actions such as the installation of a photocall with the emblem "No means no" installed in the same place, and dissemination in social networks.

The initiative was unanimously approved by the board in plenary last May, at the proposal of the member of Cambiemos Murcia, Enrique Baeza.

The same text, only adapted to the reality of the municipality as a whole, was presented by Councilwoman Margarita Guerrero in the Town Hall, although on this occasion there were modifications of the agreements by the PP.
