UMU approves the new regulation that will regulate the companies of technology base (16/06/2017)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia (UMU) has approved the regulation that regulates both the creation of Technology-Based Companies (EBT) and Intensive Companies in Non-technological Knowledge (EICNT) - generated both from research results Of the teaching institution -, as the linking of this in the same.

Throughout nineteen articles, the regulation establishes the requirements that these companies must meet to be considered as such, the administrative procedure for their creation, the forms of participation of the University, the duties of the EBT or the considerations in favor of the UMU, among other aspects.

The new text extends the figure of the promoter of the EBT, previously reserved exclusively for teaching staff, other members of the university community: administration and services staff, students, fellows, doctors, doctoral students and graduates;

In order that the different groups of the University can transform their knowledge, studies or research work into business projects that are viable.

Another important innovation is the valuation of the non-monetary contributions of the UMU in the creation of the companies, since, with respect to the previous regulation, a procedure with clear criteria to carry out this work, one of the most complicated of The whole process of constitution.
