The Town Hall today will receive the generosity of Murcian blood donors until 9.30 pm "Today this historic Hall of Plenaries live one of those important days in which the generosity of the people of Murcia is going to manifest itself with facts, (14/06/2017)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, participated today in the II Blood Donation Marathon of Murcia, in which until 12.00 noon had already been counted a hundred voluntary donations whose contribution will ensure the reserves of Murcia hospitals this summer .

"Today this historic Hall of Plenary of the City of Murcia lives one of those important days in which the generosity of the people of Murcia is going to manifest itself with facts, not only with words," stressed José Ballesta before donating blood with others Members of the Municipal Corporation, in this II Marathon celebrated coinciding with the World Donor Day.

"It will be hundreds of people who donate blood throughout the day, because we will be receiving people until 9.30 pm, thanks to this initiative of the Regional Hemodonation Center, an institution of excellence and prestige for the entire region, which leads Professor Vicente Vicente Garcia, "he added.

The mayor called on all Murcia to encourage them to "donate life."

"We are waiting for you in La Glorieta, in this Town Hall that is your home, and today you dress the color of the flag of Murcia, the red color of the blood that transmits that vitality, energy and passion so typical of the people of this land ".

All those people who want to donate blood, who are between 18 and 65 years old, weigh more than 50 kilos and are in good health until 21,30 hours are called to participate.

Objective: to maintain medical activity in summer

The objective of this initiative that hosts the Plenary Hall for the second consecutive year, and in which Radio Murcia Cadena SER collaborates, is twofold: increasing donations in Murcia and raising awareness of the need to contribute to a solidarity and civic act that also increases Health resources.

Under the motto 'No matter what you do, the important thing is that you need it', the campaign, sponsored by the mayor of Murcia, insists on the need to donate blood regularly, to maintain medical and surgical activity also in the summer and To do so in response to the demand of Murcia hospitals.
