Smaller examples of solidarity (07/06/2017)

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, gave this morning the awards to the children who have been the best, drawing in a drawing their vision on how to be supportive in daily life, within The campaign 'I can also be supportive', which drives the Volunteering Office of the Municipal Center of Social Services 'Murcia Sur'.

They have been a total of 358 drawings with which the smallest, 2nd and 3rd Primary, have wanted to reflect the solidarity in the everyday gestures of the day to day, transmitting values ​​such as generosity and camaraderie.

"You represent the best of ourselves.

You are an example to all.

You know that solidarity is a reward in itself, therefore, you help help your classmates, teachers and family without expecting anything in return, because, despite your young age, you know that when you give the best you have to others , It is a gift that is also made itself;

And that teaching will accompany you all your life, "said the mayor.

The first prize of the drawing competition was for Nelson Salvatierra Díaz, (3º of Primary), of the educational center Isabel Bellvis de Corvera.

The second prize went to Sara Sánchez-Campillo Martínez, (3º of Primary), of the school Santo Angel.

Both have accompanied them to collect the trophies and awards their classmates, tutors and directors of the centers.

More than 600 children participated in the campaign

In addition to the drawing competition, the campaign 'I can also be supportive' 2017 has reached a total of 606 students from 12 schools in the southern area of ​​the municipality, through informative talks and the publication of a notebook prepared by the Office Of Volunteering in which solidarity values ​​are promoted.

More than 350 residents of the municipality collaborate voluntarily in the various programs of the Department of Social Rights: children, people with disabilities, elderly, etc., "which demonstrates the degree of involvement of society in Murcia with its environment," he stressed Crossbow.
