The unemployment among the under 25s in Murcia fell by 15.5% in the last year. On the other hand, 1,109 people have found work in the municipality in May, which places the decrease of 3.3% To last April data (05/06/2017)

516 under 25 years of the municipality have found work in the last 12 months, a decline of 15.54%, according to data from the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, highlighted today by the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco.

In total, the number of unemployed registered in the offices of the National Employment Institute (INEM) in Murcia at the end of May stood at 32,004 people, representing a fall of 3.3% compared to April, with 1,109 persons less unemployed .

This reduction is even more significant if taken as a reference last year.

The number of unemployed in May 2016 stood at 35,746 people, so that in one year has fallen by 3,742 people, that is, 10.46%.

With regard to children under 25, at present, 2,803 young people in the municipality are jobseekers, 192 less than the previous month.

As for the registered contracts, in May there were 34,264, compared to 22,088 in May 2016, representing an increase of 55.1% and 12,176 agreements.

The increase is even greater if we take care of young people, since if in May of last year we signed 4,325 contracts, the same month of 2017 were 6.982, that is, a growth of 61.4%.

"Being positive in themselves, it can be even more significant that they are a trend and places our labor market in the right direction, confirming what is evidence, and that employment-driven policies Public administrations are giving the result we need, "said Jesús Pacheco.
