The Councilor for Development, Roque Ortiz, and the deputy commissioner of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Sebastián Delgado, have visited the works that the CHS is running on the ravine of Churra to avoid the effects of waterfalls when it rains.
Thus, the work, which takes place over a length of approximately 150 meters, consists of covering the channel with a layer of concrete that prevents the growth of grass and placing rakes of stone to reduce the energy of water in times of flood.
In addition, solid retention elements are to be installed to prevent the flow increase from reaching urban areas.
The works, which will finish before the end of June, are part of the package of preventive works planned by the City Council, the CHS and the Ministry of Environment to minimize the effects of heavy rains in various parts of the municipality.
