Santa Eulalia will have an innovative cultural and intergenerational space (30/05/2017)

The neighborhood of Santa Eulalia will have a pioneering initiative in Spain thanks to the project Urban DNA.

A private lot, located on Victorio Street, has been ceded by a family to the Town Hall in order to make it a unique and innovative space in which different generations coexist.

The Council for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, will be responsible for giving life and value this space, in collaboration with the Department of Urbanism, Orchard and Environment, Antonio Navarro and the Council Employment, Tourism and Culture, by Jesús Pacheco.

The plot, of around 400 square meters, will begin its transformation next Thursday, the day in which the agitation phase begins.

Thus, this new space is designed to combine traditional, cultural and innovative activities.

In this way, the plot will enable an area of urban orchards of about 100 square meters of surface for the neighbors to grow their own hortofrutícolas products.

It will also reserve a space to play petanque, bowling huertanos or caliche and will create areas of stay.

On the other hand, an industrial container, 20 square meters, and other elements will be installed that will host exhibitions of photography, painting, sculpture and other artistic disciplines.

In addition, a stage will be set up to carry out micro theater activities, acoustic concerts, poetry recitals and dance performances, and a wall where projections can be made and also used as summer cinema.

In the programming of the new cultural space, which will open during the day, the projects of the neighbors and interested associations will be accommodated and will be organized by a cultural manager.

At the entrance, huge vegetable letters over ten meters long with the name of the neighborhood will welcome visitors and give identity to the project.

In this plot was located a small palace that will also have a special role as it will install a plaque informing the history of this building.

In addition, in order to make the stay more cozy and pleasant, the perimetral walls will be covered with ivy and will be planted ten trees.
