The neighbors of Santa Eulalia make more than 3,000 contributions to the project Urban DNA (29/05/2017)

Next Thursday will land in the neighborhood more than 300 municipal workers who will perform cleaning, painting, arranging sidewalks, improving accessibility, lighting, installation of bins and fountains, garden arrangement, tree planting ...

After two months of dozens of activities held in the neighborhood of Santa Eulalia on the occasion of the Urban DNA project, the neighbors have contributed more than 3,000 suggestions exposing how they conceive the neighborhood, what places are the most important, what they miss and what they would enhance.

The Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, explained that "the most relevant thing is that it is a neighborhood of contrasts, where they perfectly combine the old and the new." From these characteristics, a series of concepts arise that will be the ones Define the image of the neighborhood and we will move to all the performances. "

These concepts are:

- Urban district and recoleto: It is an urban district, finished, with irregular layout of streets and apples with buildings and spaces of small scale.

- Historical and mestizo neighborhood: Overlapping of the 3 cultures, traces and traces of many times, eclectic styles.

- Central but protected neighborhood: Conservation of the historic urban layout, with local infrastructures and defined personality.

- "Slow" neighborhood: Low-speed mobility, local-based commerce and adapted mobility

- Modern, alternative and ecological neighborhood: Vegan restoration, participatory culture and alternative sensitivities.

- Mixed and diverse neighborhood: Mix of sectors of age, integrating and tolerant neighborhood with great diversity of leisure.

After a study of all these contributions, the various councils have scheduled a series of actions that will develop more than 300 operators of various services from next Thursday June 1, within the phase of agitation of the neighborhood.

In this phase, actions of all kinds will be developed: cleaning, painting, arranging sidewalks, improving accessibility, lighting, installing litter bins and fountains, arranging gardens, planting trees, new public furniture, etc.
