Antonio Ariño, recent winner of the Valencian Critic prize, speaks at the UMU on culture in the Digital Age (29/05/2017)

On Tuesday 30 May, at 12:30, Antonio Ariño, Vice-Rector of Culture and Equality of the University of Valencia, will be in charge of closing the specialist course in Cultural Management and Economics of Cullture in the Hemicycle of the Faculty Of the UMU.

It will do so with the conference "Cultures in Transit - Cultural Practices in the Ditigal Era".

The event is organized by Culture University of Murcia (classroom Forum) and the Specialist Course in Cultural Management and Economics of Culture.

Ariño is Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Degree in Geography and History and PhD in Sociology from the Universitat de València.

His research focuses on the field of Sociology of Culture, Welfare Policies and Sociological Theory.

He received the National Research Award with "The Ritual City" (Anthropos).

He is currently Director of the Observatory of Participation and Living Conditions of University Students (ECoViPEU).

A week ago he won, along with Joan Romero, the Valencian Literary Critic in his rehearsal mode for his work "Secession of the rich."

The jury considered that the work "provides rigorous reflections on a central theme of our time, as is the increasing economic inequality and its global consequences, contributing elements of great interest for a necessary debate."
