Let's change Murcia draws forward its proposal to create a municipal urban monitoring protocol (25/05/2017)

That all areas of the Consistory are involved and that it counts on the participation of the Local Police and the municipal councils.

The initiative, defended by the councilman Sergio Ramos, has its reason for being that Murcia has a large number of buildings that lack a license, which causes a "urban chaos" that especially harms the orchard of Murcia, where, in addition, are Common landfills.

The mayor stressed that this situation is aggravated by the lack of resources in urban planning and inspection, so he has demanded to provide the relevant areas with the necessary means to control the urban legality in the municipality.

In addition, the Corporation has approved the motion of the same councilor to urge the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) to dismantle definitively the inflatable dam located on the river Segura, at the height of Rincon de Seca.

The dam, according to Ramos himself, has been unused since the last avenue until a few weeks ago and "has no definite use other than to laminate the water to give the false sense of a greater flow, which in fact denatures the channel".

Likewise, the plenary has given the green light to the motion of the mayor Nacho Tornel for the elaboration of a program that includes alternative measures to expulsion in Secondary Education centers of the municipality in coordination with the public institutes and the Ministry of Education.

The purpose is to question the purpose and application of expulsions, but to provide an educational response to the problems that occur in schools and in the out-of-school environment, and to deal with the situation of demotivation that can lead to this type of sanction.

Councilor Margarita Guerrero's proposal for the incorporation of ethical fair trade clauses into municipal contracts, concessions and authorizations has also gone forward and to promote the necessary actions to obtain Murcia's accreditation as a 'City for Fair Trade'.

With this initiative, the municipalist formation prompted the City Council to value fair trade as a tool for sustainable development and combating climate change, applying criteria based on transparency, accountability, traceability, fair trade practices and gender equity.

Regarding the motion for the elimination of additional provision 27 of the PGE, which according to municipal training makes it difficult to subrogate workers by public utility companies, PPcomo Ciudadanos has been rejected, while PSOE has abstained.
