The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel will propose to the Plenary this Thursday a motion for the elaboration of a program that includes alternative measures to expulsion in secondary education centers of the municipality, in coordination with the public institutes and the Ministry of Education.
The initiative requests as first agreements that the council of the branch to make a report justifying the need to implement this program and urge the General Directorate of Innovation and Attention to Diversity to certify that there is no duplication in the implementation of said program.
Tornel explained that the purpose of his proposal is not to question the purpose and application of expulsions, but to provide an educational response to the problems that occur in schools and in the out-of-school environment, and to address the demotivation situation that Can lead to this type of sanction.
"It is about launching an act of collaboration in the exercise of prevention, follow-up and control of school absenteeism and attending situations that often generate a risk of rejection in minors towards the school system," said the mayor Of the municipal formation, for whom the joint action of the school community of each center is fundamental when it comes to welcoming and promoting students immersed in complex personal and educational processes.
