UCAM achieves seven more medals in the Spanish University Championship table tennis (19/05/2017)

The pavilion of the Cuatro Santos neighborhood of Cartagena has been the setting for the Spanish University Championship table tennis, organized by the Universidad Católica San Antonio.

Once the competition is over, the UCAM stands out for another year as the great winner in this discipline adding seven more medals: five gold, one silver and one bronze.

In the first day was played the competition of doubles that was solved with a double victory of the UCAM.

Iulia Necula and Sara Ramírez won in the women's squad and Jesús Cantero and Marc Durán did the same in the men's.

Today the individual phase has been played.

Sara Ramirez has won the final in the final against Iulia Necula, achieving gold and silver for the Catholic University.

In the men's box, Jesus Cantero got the gold and Marc Durán the bronze.

With these excellent results, UCAM has also added gold by teams thus closing its participation in a Championships of Spain University 2017 in which it repeats as the first university in the medal.

Not only in the competitive field the UCAM has been the first university in Spain.

Also in terms of organizational capacity, since the Universidad Católica San Antonio repeats the most competitions organized (10) taking tournaments to different cities in the Region: Cartagena, Murcia, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Caravaca de la Cruz .

More than 2,000 athletes and coaches from all over Spain have been in the Region during the last weeks thanks to the initiative of the UCAM to organize all these championships.
