III Annual Conference of Law and Theology (19/05/2017)

The prefect of the Congregation of Catholic Education, Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, said that the UCAM "is a university that really comes from the heart of the Church" during his speech at the III Annual Conference of Law and Theology held this morning At the Catholic University of Murcia organized jointly by this university and the Lateranese of Rome through the International Innocent III Chair.

Versaldi has offered a conference on the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae on which the UCAM was founded. He emphasized that "despite its difficult beginnings, it is already 20 years old" and today "it is a wonderful reality."

Versaldi has remarked that Catholic universities are very important in spreading the Word of God.

"The initiative of the laity, as it is the case of the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, is to transmit the word of God in the modern world, and they do it through the sciences that are proper to the laity. They generate a framework in which we can dialogue the ecclesiastical hierarchy and scientists and witness the announcement of the truth, "said the cardinal.

Dialogue between reason and faith

The Cardinal has shown great interest in this constant dialogue between reason and faith: "We must help both disciplines, in this way we can really know the nature of man, deepen his knowledge and thus achieve God's mandate in a way Christian ".

In these III Annual Conference of Law and Theology have also intervened the Professor of Canon Law Theology of the Pontifical Lateran University, Paolo Gherri;

The co-director of the Inocencio III Joint International Chair of the same university, Professor Matteo Nacci and the co-director of the International Inocencio III Joint Chair of the Catholic University of Murcia, Javier Belda Iniesta.

Jorge Fernández Díaz: "Fatima is a phenomenon without which the history of the 20th century can not be understood"

The deputy Jorge Fernández Díaz spoke today on the last day of the International Congress of Mariology that is being developed at the UCAM, on the occasion of the centenary of the apparitions of the Virgin in Fatima In his conference he underlined that heaven has been involved in a Very intense way in human events.

"The heaven comes to the aid of men." The Virgin in Fatima predicted the arrival of World War II and explained to the shepherds the need for men to convert and believe in the Gospel, "said Fernández Díaz.
