The City Museum expands its heritage with different donations (19/05/2017)

The Museum of the City, today will rebound different donated pieces that will extend its patrimony.

On the occasion of the International Day of Museums, this afternoon will be held, at 19 hours, an act of reception to be attended by Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco.

Among the donated items are original and unpublished scores by Manuel Massotti Escuder, which will be performed by the pianists Pedro Valero, professor of the Professional Conservatory of Music, and Pilar Valero, professor of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.

The works donated by Antonio Martínez Mengual are a painting of the Cathedral of Murcia of 1974 and ten illustrations of the book `Crónica particular'

Clara Alarcón Ruiz has donated ten Spanish banknotes with dates between 1925 and 1933, a teapot with support and heater of alcohol of the twentieth century and a collection of photographs of the steps of the Holy week murcian realized by Antonio Nicholas of approximately 1920, as the Veronica, Prayer in the Garden and the Painful one of the Brotherhood Our Father Jesus Nazareno and the Virgin of the Angustias of Brotherhood of Servitas

The works donated by Francisco Tortosa Muñoz is an oil by Obdulia Acevedo Eguiagaray, while Tomás Bernal Zamora has delivered a collection of objects such as two photographs and obituary of José Martínez Tornel, four monthly cards of the Catholic action film club, three postcards of The cathedral and its surroundings, a pen and inkwell, three medals, 23 drawing albums for embroidery and work and a toy, among others.

Antonia Hernández Massotti and his brothers, in addition to the 296 scores composed by Manuel Massotti Escuder, have donated a portrait of a man from Cañizares and Mª Carmen Gregorio Mármol, a vinyl record `Columbia '

Finally, the group of Watercolorists of the Region of Murcia donates the watercolor by Mustapha Ben Lahmar, during the workshop `Experimentation with watercolor and paper.

The plastic language ', held on April 9 and 10, 2016 at the City Museum, and another one by Teresa Jordá Vico, during the workshop' From the abstract to the figurative ', held on 25 And April 26, 2017 at the City Museum.
