The City Council launches the new service of dynamization of its 58 classrooms of free access to the Internet in the Day (17/05/2017)

The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, visited this morning the public Internet access classroom Vistabella, which, like the other 57 existing in the municipality, will expand its offer of courses and Free workshops thanks to the new municipal service of support and dynamization that the council has presented today coinciding with the day of information technologies and communication DIATIC.

The City Council offers these free courses and workshops through the more than 500 computers, with free Internet access and free use that are at the service of all Murcia.

The company in charge of the service of dynamization of the classrooms is the Institute of Community Development

The main objective is to achieve the digital literacy of the users who use this service either by doing computer science courses or using the e-learning form @ carm training platform.

In addition, Murcia can access a large bag of free courses, including the food handler card, languages, computer science ... that allows them to improve their employment prospects, and under the supervision of such monitors dinamizadores of the corresponding classroom.

These classrooms are also at the service of youth associations, women's associations, senior centers and other groups ...

The main objective of the initiative is to "increase citizens' opportunities to access and use the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies in all areas of their lives," said Guillén. Training courses and seminars are held to improve personal skills and abilities for job search and entrepreneurship.

The new service that the Councilor for Modernization has presented today, coinciding with the internet day, will be provided throughout the year - except July and August - in all of the Free Access Classrooms, WALAs (ALAs with wireless technology) and Telecenters Municipalities that have the infrastructure and accessibility to the appropriate network and that will be made available to the winning company and joins the services that were already provided in the SMARTAULAS free access classrooms thanks to the agreement with the University to modernize, boost and Streamline this service.

The opening hours for the public will preferably be in the evenings, although support and activities may also be carried out in the mornings in the municipal centers that require it due to the demand of users.

The City has invested in this new service 611,685.49 euros for two years.
